Land Rover confirmed in January that the 2016 model year Range Rover and Range Rover Sport would be getting the company's turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 diesel with 254 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque, but there has been a lingering question of the price for the new engine option. Now, that conundrum has finally been answered for both models.
According to a leaked document from the Land Rover fans at Oval News, the 2016 Range Rover Sport SE TD6 will retail for $66,450, plus a $995 destination fee. That will be just $1,500 more than the gasoline-fueled Sport SE with the 3.0-liter supercharged V6 at $64,950.
Land Rover spokesperson Maria Rodriguez confirmed via email to Autoblog, "The diesel will be a $1,500 premium across both Range Rover and Range Rover Sport V6 models."
This pricing sheet also shows other small tweaks to the Sport SE's options lineup for 2016. The $2,740 Climate Comfort and Visibility Package adds a heated windshield and twin, blade sunvisors to the included features. Also, the $2,900 Driver Assistance Package gets a head-up display and WiFi pre-wire.
In addition to the its two top models, Land Rover intends to bring diesel engines to even more products in the US. We are set to get the company's turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel in the XE and F-Pace CUV in the future.
