Koenigsegg plugs in new Regera for trip to Geneva [w/video]

Koenigsegg is slated to reveal two new versions of its seven-figure supercar at the Geneva Motor Show. That much we've known for several weeks already. What we still don't know for sure is just what will set them apart from each other and the existing versions of the Agera that have come before, but the Swedish automaker has been leaving us clues. Here's the latest, and it's a big one.

Alongside the Agera RS (which we're anticipating will pack the power of the One:1 but the creature comforts of the Agera R), Christian von Koenigsegg and company are slated to reveal the Regera. If that name screams recharging to you, you appear to be right on the money.

In this latest video posted by the Swedish automaker on various social media channels, you can see the Regera opening up on of its carbon-fiber panels to reveal a charging port into which an electric cable can be plugged, thereby confirming to a large degree what's in store for the new debut in Geneva this week.

The recharging capability ought to put the Regera in the same league as the Porsche 918, McLaren P1 and LaFerrari among the new class of hybrid hypercars. We'll have to hold on to find out how long it'll be before it's put into production, among other details, but with the show opening in just a couple of days from now, we won't be waiting much longer.
