If you caught this year's White House Correspondents' Dinner last night, you probably saw mostly the same kind of thing you'd see every year: government officials and Washington reporters making fun of each other. It's a bit like a Comedy Central roast, only played out by people who, let's face it, aren't known for being funny. But there have been some historical exceptions.

Whether this video from C-SPAN qualifies is a matter of taste. It features both Vice Presidents of the United States – the fictional Selina Meyer played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus on the HBO comedy Veep, and her real-life counterpart Joe Biden – getting up to no good in a yellow Corvette Stingray. It's got cameos from First Lady Michelle Obama, House Speaker John Boehner and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, but when it comes down to it, it's the Vette as much as the Veep that that caught our attention. It is, after all, more exciting than the limo or Amtrak train in which Biden usually rides around. Check it out in the clip below.

I just vomited. The great American sports car showcased with the most un-American of political "leaders" and your typical Hollywood sycophant. Having proved their acting skills for the last 6 years, this sort of thing comes natural.

Calling someone you don't like "un-American" might as well be a 4-year old calling someone they don't like "poopy pants".

No, calling someone "un-American" for disagreeing with your political views means somebody is repeating what they've heard from conservative pundits for the past 20+ years... When people disagreed with Bush (or as Sean Hannity put it, "emboldening our enemies and putting our troops in harm's way for not standing behind your president") people were un-American. When people supported Obama, they were un-American. It's a very scary us-vs-them philosophy conservative pundits are feeding their sheep.

Nice to see that 11.5 billion dollars in taxpayer bailout money will get old Joe Biden all pimped out in a brand new Corvette for his Hollywood friends Democrats and the UAW .Your tax money folks. I always thought it should have been a loan like Chrysler did during the Reagan administration .Which Chrysler paid back in full...My,How times have changed

It was a loan. The loan was converted to equity and thus marked paid. The government then sold the shares at a loss, which was a political choice. Ford also used a lot of debt for equity swaps to get out of their hole, although in their case not on any government loans (they are still paying their government loans).

Carpinions, yes, if you are referring to Palin, yes, even though she was running as VP, she would make a far better President. As far as Russia goes, at least Palin has EXPERIENCE in negotiating government contracts with Russia, far more experience in government that the "community organizer". Palin also ran a very fiscally responsible State budget. Something the "community organizer" doesn't even understand. To this day the community organizer has failed to sign a yearly budget. BTW, it is required by law for Harry Reid and Obama to sign a budget EVERY YEAR. They have yet to do so.

You're getting voted down for telling the truth. I suppose truth hurts even though you are right. http://www.forbes.com/sites/joannmuller/2012/08/29/automakers-report-card-who-still-owes-taxpayers-money-the-answer-might-surprise-you/ This is a little out of date but it still covers the bases pretty well.

Grendel, Forbes isn't telling the truth because it's ignoring the saving of an entire American industry as a result of said loans. You selfish morons can cry about $11B all you want. I'll take you shedding crocodile tears every day of the century over your insistence on letting millions of workers twist in the breeze for your own pathetic green "morality".

How do other countries take us seriously if our politicians are a bunch of jokes playing around with commercials and parties?

So you would rather our leaders be pedestal-bound icons than at least semi-real human beings... Do you think every single moment of the life of an elite person must be august, thoroughly erudite, free of humor, and positively impactful on the known universe?

Lighten up people, we tend to take things so serious in today's society. What's the difference between politicians being in the short or appearing on late night TV? If nothing else, it shows that politicians can show a lighter side that most people seem to have forgotten to show for themselves. Life is what you make of it and if watching that video angered you, you need to re-think your life. Love the sight but tired of the negativity from people who have nothing better than to be mad at the world.
