With the official debut for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe expected tomorrow, it shouldn't be a surprise that some clicky fingers have already managed to uncover an official image of the car before the unveiling. Outside of this sole image, though, there's precious little detail on the new car.

First posted by Autofilou and then picked up by WorldCarFans, the production S-Class Coupe isn't far off from the concept car we saw a few months back in Frankfurt. Like the concept, the leggy production model appears related, albeit distantly, to the S-Class Sedan. The hood and front fascia are longer and lower, befitting of a two-door, while the character lines in the profile are more pronounced. Obviously, the beltline and slim, B-pillarless greenhouse are coupe-only items. We can't see any details on the back of the car, although it does appear that the long hood has a correspondingly short rear deck.

We'll have all the details on the official replacement for the CL-Class when it makes its full debut tomorrow. Until then, what do you think of this lone image? Does it appear that Mercedes has got it right? In terms of design, where would you rank this with the departing CL-Class? Have your say in Comments.

This car is gorgeous and I'm sure it'll look just that much better in person. And the AMG models are going to be absolutely sick.

Very elegant design. There's just something about a big Benz, being able to roll down all four windows and have no b-pillarsis very nice. I do miss the huge fenders of the old CL.

I've always been a big fan of the big coupés from Mercedes, and the images of the concept S-Class Coupé were very promising. So I'm definitely glad to see that the actual production version of it is virtually identical to the concept. Of course, we haven't seen the backside of it yet. Given that this side was absolutely beautiful on the concept , I'm more than eager to find out if they kept it on the production car as well. I do regret that the pattern of the grille inner works from the concept haven't been kept, but you can't have it all I guess. I'm also very much looking forward to the AMG 63 and 65 models, given that Mercedes will actually make that latter one. But looking at the car's market position and it's potential clientele it seems highly unlikely to me if they wouldn't. Can't wait to see this car for real, hopefully sometime soon.

God that is beautiful. Even if it won't be the CL anymore, those were still one of my favorite Mercedes. If it's one thing they know how to do, it's make gorgeous coupes.

So how come GM or Ford can't build something like this?!!

Too interested in making profit, I guess.

For those of you who don't like your coupes large and luxurious, Mercedes will soon be blessing us with the GT AMG sports car. That's why I like Mercedes. There's never a shortage of expensive coupes to choose from. You don't like one? Get a different one.

DAMN! Looks sexy and sleek, I only wish the front didn't resemble the $70,000-cheaper CLA so much.

mercedes designs these days are so sleek except for those goofy shaped headlights and vertical grill.
