Popular crowd-funding site Kickstarter has become the destination to find really cool and unique gadgets before they hit production. Gadgets like a remote control car that can turn into a quadcopter with the press of a button.

That's exactly what "B" is. The brainchild of PhD engineering student Witold Mielniczek, the land/air vehicle is not only capable of vertical takeoff, but takeoff while on the go as well. B is also equipped with a 720p camera to capture all of the action in HD video.

For those of us whose R/C copter skills aren't up to par, worry not. B is made with the same material used in bulletproof glass.

"The chassis when combined with the body shell not only forms a rigid and light construction that maintains its shape when flying or driving, but is also flexible enough to absorb excessive forces generated during crash landings," explained Mielniczek. "The wheels naturally guard the blades around them. If an impact occurs on the side of the vehicle, the prop saver will protect the blades."

According to the Kickstarter page, a pledge of about $200 will get you an unassembled B without flight capabilities or camera. The price goes up to $622 for those options.

The biggest downside to B is the fact that the battery only lasts 15 minutes. While flying a quadcopter around for fifteen minutes does sound fun, with a price tag of around $600 we were hoping for a little more loft time.

Regardless of battery life, B sure has caught on with quite a few people. At the time of this post, with 24 of the 40 funding days left, B is over three quarters funded with 240 backers contributing roughly $100,000.

If overfunded, and it looks like B may achieve that status, Mielniczek says he will upgrade B to be able to float on water and walk on walls.
