With the weather warming up, it's finally time to hit the waves. Why not have a little fun as you head to the beach? WaveSkate has created "the first and only" hybrid surfboard/skateboard, According to lead-man Yancey Meyer. The San Diego-based startup is currently seeking backers on the popular crowd-funding website Kickstarter.

The board is essentially a 5-foot snub-nosed surfboard with removable wheels attached to the bottom. According to the WaveSkate Kickstarter page, it was designed for those who want "the essence of surfing, accessibility of skateboarding and the carving speeds of snowboarding into one unstoppable fun machine."

WaveSkate is aimed at those who are new to skateboarding and surfing, and would like to get into both without spending a ton of money. A $450 backing pledge will get you one of the first ten, 5 foot boards available. At the time of this posting, WaveSkate had $700 pledged of their $4000 goal with 23 days to go.
