The action kicks off at the solar-powered, sheep-grazed Infineon Raceway on May 4th as part of the massive West Coast Moto Jam weekend. From there, the show resumes June 23rd at Portland International Raceway in Oregon, the home track of Team Segway Racing MotoCzysz and the home state of the Brammo boys.
Next up is the previously-mentioned joint TTXGP/FIM e-Power round in Monterey, CA starting the 28th of July. It is one of three such collaborations between the two racing series for 2012, with the others being held in Germany at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben and in France as part of the high-profile Endurance FIM World Championship at Le Mans. The TTXGP North America series ends with a return to the very fine Miller Motorsports Park in Utah on the 31st of August.
All of that brings us to the final event of the year and the reason we're very excited: Daytona on October 19th. The first two TTXGP World Championships have both been held in Europe and for various reasons – mostly to do with logistics and budgets – have only included teams from the TTXGP Europe and, previously, UK series. This 2012 Florida version will be a true "World Championship" with participation expected from the European, North American and Australian series. One race to rule them all!
With the first race of the season still weeks away, we thought we'd leave you with a couple videos to tide you over. Hit the jump for a look back at the first 1,000 days of the TTXGP series and the many milestones already met, as well as a look forward with footage of the Lightning Motors machine at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway testing what we hear is greatly improved handling to suit its world-record speed.
