Things continue to heat up for General Motors as a result of an NHTSA crash test of a Chevy Volt that led to a fire while the car was held in storage some 3 weeks later. The fire occurred in June, but was not publicly disclosed until November. Not only is GM looking at redesigning the battery pack for increased safety, they're offering loaners and are reportedly even willing to buy back Volts from concerned customers.
