Gas Pices Down This Memorial Day Weekend

AAA says prices have peaked for the year

Gas prices are dropping this Memorial Day weekend, according to the latest surveys of gas prices state by state.

The average price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline in Rhode Island, for example, is $3.92, five cents lower than the $3.97 price that was reported by AAA a few days ago.

Tripadvisor.com reports that gas prices have affected American's travel decisions this holiday weekend. However, an estimated 33% of people surveyed said they will still travel.

One site where you can find the lowest price at the pump in your area is www.gasbuddy.com.
Fuel is more than a dollar per gallon higher than a year ago, travelers should be happy to know prices are on the way down.

"The good news is we feel gas has already peaked for the year," said AAA Mid-Atlantic spokesman Jim Lardear.
