Videos: Chevy drops entire load of Super Bowl commercials on us

Chevrolet Silverado HD Super Bowl ad - Click above to watch video after the jump

General Motors has gone ahead and saved us all the agony of waiting until the Super Bowl this Sunday to see all five of the company's new ads. The automaker has officially yanked the veil of secrecy off of the spots well before kickoff, which means you can check them all out for yourself after the jump. The spots feature the Chevrolet Silverado HD, Cruze, Cruze Eco, Volt and Camaro in some very clever marketing. While we're big fans of the Camaro "Miss Evelyn" spot that we saw earlier this week, the new clip for the Silverado HD is no less grin-inducing.

This year looks to be a good one for fans of clever advertising. With automakers from Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen to GM and Audi jumping into the fun, the commercial breaks are almost bound to be more fun than the actual game itself. Click past the jump to see the slew of Chevrolet ads before anyone else and to check out the press release.

Chevrolet Has Big Presence in Super Bowl XLV

2011-02-04

Chevrolet ads will run pre-game, during the game and post-game

Five in-game ads debut featuring Camaro, Cruze Eco, Silverado HD and Volt

Camaro Convertible to be awarded to Most Valuable Player

FOX's 'Glee' showcases Chevy in special post-game episode

DETROIT – Chevrolet will air five 30-second commercials during Super Bowl XLV Sunday on FOX, representing only part of a coordinated TV presence that continues into a special post-game episode of "Glee," the FOX hit musical comedy.

The Camaro, Cruze Eco, Silverado HD and Volt will be featured in a combination of in-game and post-game ads, plus Chevy is presenting a Camaro Convertible to the Most Valuable Player from Super Bowl XLV between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers.

"Chevrolet has a lot of great news to share right now, and where else do you get to talk to 95 million Americans all at once?" said Joel Ewanick, global chief marketing officer of General Motors. "Chevrolet is using the biggest broadcast day of the year, all day, to talk about the Volt, the North American Car of the Year; the Silverado HD, Motor Trend's Truck of the Year; the 42-mile-per-gallon Cruze Eco; and the best-selling Camaro."

One of the Super Bowl ads will promote an elaborate, longer-form Chevrolet spot to air during the "Glee" episode following the Super Bowl, where the classic song "See the U.S.A. in your Chevrolet" plays a key role in the plot of the commercial.

The following Chevrolet ads will air during the game: "Misunderstanding," featuring the Cruze Eco; "Discovery," highlighting the Volt; "Tommy," highlighting the Silverado HD; and "Al's Chevrolet," starring the Camaro. The "Glee" commercial also will run during the game. "Ms. Evelyn," featuring the Camaro, will air after the presentation of the MVP Award, also sponsored by Chevrolet.

"This combination of commercials highlights today's diversity of Chevrolet products, but each spot also tells a part of the overall Chevy brand story and provides additional evidence of how 'Chevy Runs Deep,'" said Ewanick. "You're going to see the Chevy story continue to unfold for a long time to come after Super Bowl XLV is in the record books."

All of this year's Super Bowl ads were created by Chevrolet's agency of record, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. Chevrolet advertising returns to the Super Bowl after a four-year absence.
