Recently, a group of students at Japan's Okayama Sanyo High School unveiled an electric car that could whiz down the road for approximately 50 miles on a single charge. The meager distance it can cover between charges seems more than acceptable, though, when you learn that the car measures a mere 18 inches tall. Yes, that means the car is shorter than some people's rims, and it could possibly enter the Guiness Book of World Records for the shortest electric car in the world.
The car, called Mirai (未来, which means "future" in Japanese), has an almost toy-like appearance, but this potential record-setting electric is more than capable of cruising around on real-world streets. Hop the jump for a detailed look at the low-lying Mirai electric car. Hat tip to Stephen!
