If we told you that an automaker has a diesel hybrid minivan that emits just 99 grams per kilometer of CO2, offers up 200 horsepower and returns nearly 57 miles per gallon, would you be interested in buying it? We can bet that for many, the answer would be a resounding yes. Surprisingly, the vehicle described above will actually go on sale next March. Unfortunately, but unsurprisingly, it won't be available in the U.S.
For those who missed the news, Peugeot-Citroen will launch the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid 4 early next year in Europe. This small minivan boasts the impressive numbers mentioned above and Peugeot expects it to be such a hit that it's considering exporting it beyond the European market. Peugeot will consider exporting the diesel hybrid minivan to Australia, Brazil, China, Israel and Turkey. Despite cries for a hybrid minivan, the U.S. is notably absent from Peugeot's list. Looks like we'll have to wait for that Prius minivan instead.
