Ahhh, advertising agencies. In a crowd-sourced world with thousands of years of stories to look back on, what can they possibly come up with that's new? And yet, this is exactly what they're asked to do every day. So, sometimes, the pressure gets to be so great that they think a wood chair equals a Nissan Leaf and an orange is a turn signal.
Filmed in Tokyo, Nissan's latest ad for the Leaf is a stop-motion romp showing people in dining room chairs cruising through streets and parks. The tie to the Leaf? We think it has something to do with zero emissions mobility. It's a stretch – our dining room chairs don't get out much – but the point is to direct people to Nissan's new Flash-heavy website Journey To Zero, which is all about "learning to love the future of mobility." If that future means the Leaf, then OK. If it means "driving" wood chairs through town, then no thanks. Watch the minute-long video for yourself after the jump.
