If you happen to be in the multitude headed to a theater near you on the 3rd of April to catch the latest installment of the Fast and the Furious
franchise, keep your eyes peeled for another cameo
from our battery-powered
acquaintance, the Tesla Roadster
. We hadn't heard that the electric sports car
would appear amidst the high-octane rides until a brief mention of it in an interview broadcast in France. While talking to Michelle Rodriguez, the subject of our favorite sports car came up and she became very enthusiastic. "Loooove, looove.. I think that's the future of cars, I mean 0 to 60 in under 4 seconds, are you kidding me? That's faster than a...than a Ferrari
!", she declares.
We don't know if the car survived the filming of the show, though we suspect it did, since the cars that get destroyed in this film have several back ups. Roadsters are a little pricey to be bumping into things with, even if you have a big Hollywood blockbuster budget. If you want to see a Tesla
product trashed, you may have to wait until the Fast and the Furious 5 or 6 is released. By that time they might be able to get a few Model S
sedans to work with. Hit the jump for a bit of (mostly French) Fast and Furious 4 interview action. Thanks to Henri for the tip!
