If you're a driving enthusiast living in the old world, chances are you're plenty familiar with Renault. The French automaker makes some of the best supercar-slaying hot hatches on the market and organizes a series of events to show drivers how to get the most out of them. Those events are now being organized into a new European tour that aims to demonstrate the best of what Renault Sport has to offer.
The 2009 Renault Sport Experience combines events like the Twingo RS Driving Tuition Days, Renault Sports Enthusiast Days and factory tours into a 28-stop roadshow that hits some of Europe's best racing circuits, including England's Brands Hatch and Cadwell Park, Belgium's Spa-Francorchamps and Zolder, and of course the Circuit La Sarthe in Le Mans, France. Participants will be able to get advanced driving instruction behind the wheel of the hardcore Megane R26.R, hit the track in a Clio Cup for just thirty euros, even drive a Formula Renault racer or tour Renault Sport's factory in Dieppe, France. Special English-speaking and women-only events are also included in the tour, which you can read all about in the press release after the jump.
Enjoy the thrill with Renault Sport Experience
The newly created label Renault Sport Experience brings together the Renault Sport Enthusiast Days and Twingo Renault Sport Driving Tuition Days, as well as a host of new events aimed at the corporate market.
Organized by Renault Sport Technologies since 2005, the Renault Sport Enthusiast Days are aimed not only at those who wish to drive on a racing track in total safety, but also at die-hard passionate persons who want to explore the world of Renault Sport and its latest models. With 28 dates in France and the rest of Europe, the 2009 Renault Sport Enthusiast Days Programme offers racing and motorsport fans a wide range of enjoyable and fun activities. These offers start at just €30 for a Clio Cup track experience.
These days enable Renault Sport owners to drive on some of Europe's most famous racing tracks in total safety. Supervised by experienced instructors, participants make the very most of the handling qualities of their vehicle and improve their proficiency in sports driving. Participants are also offered the chance to test drive vehicles from the Renault Sport range.
For those who have not yet been lucky enough to own a Renault Sport vehicle, the Discovery offer will introduce them to some new feelings during a track experience and test drives in cars from the Renault Sport range. Another opportunity not to be missed, the Coached Mégane R26.R test drive gives enthusiasts the privilege of driving the "sport model of the year" of French magazine Echappement's.
From Nogaro to Le Mans, not forgetting Dijon or le Val de Vienne, 16 days are scheduled, each held on a different circuit. The programme also includes events at Spa-Francorchamps and Zolder (Belgium), and Brands Hatch, Oulton Park and Caldwell Park (United Kingdom).
Renault-Alpine Plant Tour in Dieppe
The true heart of Renault Sport's love for racing, the Alpine-Renault plant in Dieppe opens its doors for exclusive tours offering visitors the chance to see the Renault Sport production model assembly lines, as well as the racing workshop where the great Clio Cup and Mégane Trophy cars are manufactured. There are six days on the programme, including three for English-speaking visitors.
Renault Sport Discovery Days
After having (re)traced the history of Renault's sports cars by visiting the Renault collection on display at the Flins plant, the lucky few will be able to discover what's new from Renault Sport in 2009 at the Ouest-Parisien circuit (Dreux) at the start of October. From September onwards, participants will be able to test drive models from the entire Renault Sport range.
Driving Tuition Days
These driving stages enable participants to improve their driving skills in a Renault Sport car or to find out what it feels like to drive a Formula Renault 2.0. Four dates are available in 2009, including one restricted to female participants only (May 17 at Folembray)!
