To celebrate the tenth year of the smart brand, Mercedes-Benz is making some incredibly limited editions of the fortwo called edit10n. For the Canada-specific version of the edit10n, only be ten copies will be made. What makes this edit10n Canadian? The maple leaf details, of course.

The new special edition vehicle, based on the smart fortwo BRABUS coupé, uses Arctic Grey Metallic paint on the outside and Chalet brown leather with contrasting grey Alcantara piping and stitching on the interior. The car was unveiled at the Toronto Auto Show this week. The powerplant is the same as the one used in the standard BRABUS fortwo.

Canadian readers can try to win the first Canadian fortwo edit10n here; the other nine will be sold to people who win a reservation lottery that will take place on that same website. 500 copies of the German edit10n were built last fall.

TORONTO, Feb. 11 /CNW/ - smart Canada unveiled today a special 10th Anniversary Edition smart fortwo during the 2009 Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, which is being held from February 13-22.

Based on the smart fortwo BRABUS coupé, which also made its regional premiere today at the Canadian International Auto Show, the 10th Anniversary Edition is limited to just 10 units that will be hand tailored at the state-of-the-art BRABUS facility in Bottrop, Germany. This exclusive model boasts unique design elements including special Arctic Grey Metallic paint, and a hand assembled interior that is trimmed in Chalet brown leather with contrasting grey Alcantara piping and stitching. This special leather trim also covers the kneepad, door panel, gear shift knob, handbrake handle and steering wheel.

The exterior styling of the 10th Anniversary Edition smart fortwo is further differentiated by BRABUS monoblock VII wheels, 15" front and 17" rear, that are painted flat black, and limited edition 10th Anniversary logos that are affixed on the A-pillars and the rear tail gate.

The 10th Anniversary Edition is powered by a compact, three-cylinder 70 hp engine and features the same sport tuned exhaust system and sport chassis designed for the smart fortwo BRABUS. The luxurious interior features stylish velour floor mats embroidered with the "edition" logo and many other upgrades from the top-of-the-line smart fortwo, including additional dashboard instruments and brushed aluminium sports pedals.
