Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup heads north of the border

Volkswagen kicked off its Jetta TDI Cup race series a couple of weeks ago at VIRginia International Raceway with a close fought and exciting battle to the finish. This weekend they are heading north to another of the toughest tracks in North America at Mosport Park, north-east of Toronto. The Jettas will be racing as part of a program that includes the Mazda MX-5 Cup and the Canadian Touring Car Championship, among other races. This race will be something of a homecoming for the four drivers in the thirty driver lineup who hail from Canada. 30 Drivers to Race Clean Diesel Volkswagens in Canada
HERNDON, VA – The Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup will make its international debut May 16-18, 2008 at Mosport International Raceway in the second race of this all-new series. "Showcasing this series in Canada is exciting not only for the drivers, but also for Volkswagen," said Clark Campbell, motorsport manager, Volkswagen of America Inc. "Historically, Volkswagen has enjoyed a lot of success with our diesel products in Canada. We're confident that when Canadian race fans see the 30 clean diesel Jetta TDIs racing around Mosport, they'll appreciate just how far clean diesel technology has come."
