In 2007, all the cars in the American
Le Mans Series - with the exception of the
diesel powered
Audi R10s - ran on a ten percent ethanol-gasoline blend. Sometime during the 2008 season, ALMS organizers plan to have their series become the first to transition to a second-generation
biofuel. They plan to shift to an E85 blend that uses cellulosic ethanol.
