Yet another country trying to catch the train of
biofuels. This time it's Uruguay, a country that is not looking at its northern neighbor, Brazil, but is actually searching for business partners in Europe.
The ANCAP (Concrete, Alcohol and Fuel Association) is sending representatives to Western Europe to try to find a partner that can assure both a market and solid grounding for the country's plans on ethanol and biodiesel. ANCAP's plans are growing up to 100,000 Ha (about 247,000 acres) in the Montevideo, San José and Canelones areas.
Estimated investment is about 40 million USD just for the manufacturing plants. Do you have any spare change?
