Here at Autoblog and especially over at our sister site AutoblogGreen, we've written quite a bit about the new two-mode hybrid system that General Motors is launching this fall on the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon. We even got to drive the trucks back in early May. USA Today is just now catching up with the story and reporting as new something we and others reported almost three months ago.
Back when we first drove the trucks GM told us that they would be getting about forty-percent better fuel economy in urban driving and twenty-five percent more overall. About the only information USA Today came up with that's new is the volume projection, with GM now saying it hopes to sell 10,000 hybrids in the first year.
