Saab Australia goes carbon neutral

Saab has taken an environmental lead over its rivals in the Australian market by being the first car manufacturer to go 'carbon neutral' by offsetting the carbon production of its new vehicles by planting trees. Greenfleet will provide Saab with one year's worth of carbon offsets by planting 17 native trees for every new or demonstration Saab vehicle purchased, making Saab the first brand to offset its entire range.

"Saab has a clear commitment to 'performance with responsibility'," Parveen Batish, Director Saab Australia and New Zealand said, "The Greenfleet partnership is another way for the Saab community to drive with a green conscience irrespective of which vehicle they choose."

The trees that are planted will absorb the greenhouse gas emissions produced by a car in one year as well as improving water quality, reducing salinity and providing essential habitat for native species.
