DaimlerChrysler is learning around the world. The "Chrysler Group Powertrain Strategy" is the company's new direction to get to better fuel economy from and more fuel options into its vehicles. The Strategy is the result of engine tests from around the world and will feature a family of V-6 engines that are based on a single architecture that "will streamline four engines to one". The announcement was made by Chrysler Group Chief Operating Officer Eric Ridenour Wednesday in Michigan. Most of the 10 new vehicles the Chrysler Group is launching this year are small SUVs and more fuel-efficient cars. Two more of DaimlerChrysler's big announcements: bright yellow gas caps on flexible-fuel vehicles in an extension of General Motor's "Live Green, Go Yellow" campaign to Chrysler Group vehicles.
