Thanks in part to Gov. Granholm signing a
new biofuel law Friday, state Representative Pam Byrnes has organized a town hall meeting to talk about
alternative fuels in Michigan. The forum will take place tomorrow. Think of the meeting as a chance to walk the talk.
"With all the talk about higher fuel costs and dependence on foreign oil, we have a chance to turn that around and do something positive,'' Byrnes told the Ann Arbor News. Byrnes will be joined by a representative of Wacker Oil & Propane, Michigan's largest biodiesel distributor, the director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture, and – in a weird twist – a representative from Chrysler to talk about the discontinued Jeep Liberty diesel.
