Clean and dirty cars in the U.K.: the good, bad, and ugly

There seems to be a correlation that the more expensive or popular (or both) a vehicle is to the public, the worse it is environmentally. In the U.K., the Maserati MC12 (pictured) emits 545g/km of carbon, considerably higher than than the 140g/km set by the EU. Other high-emissions vehicles include the Bentley Continental, Porsche Cayenne, and Rolls-Royce Phantom. Land Rover's headquarters has some of the highest carbon emissions in the country which is most likely due to the popularity of the SUV among employees. The worse polluters, though, continue to be the 'average' vehicle like the extremely popular Ford Mondeo.
