Next-gen Prius will be turbocharged, get 100+ MPG, and maybe plug-in

As the most popular hybrid vehicle in the world, the Toyota Prius invites a lot of speculation. Now, "insiders" working for Autoexpress have revealed details about the next-generation Prius, and the news is good if you're looking for better mileage and more power.

First, one prototype Prius being tested has a 1.8-litre turbo engine with an upgraded hybrid system with new lithium ion batteries that will recharge quicker and hold more power longer.  Autoexpress is also reporting that Toyota might make the Prius with a plug-in power system, similar to what independent groups like the Amberjac Projects group have added to current Prius models.
