A friend of a friend of a friend who happens to be a Chevy dealer let us know that Chevy won’t have the redesigned Silverado ready for the beginning of the 2007 model year. Thus when the calendar year clicks over the current model will continue to be sold with the term “Classic” tagged on the end of its name. The Silverado 1500, for instance, will henceforth be known as the Silverado 1500 Classic. This strategy is much like the one Ford used when it sold the last and current generations of the F-150 together for a time, the former being referred to as the F-150 Heritage.
