The Tour de Sol is a car show and competition for environmentally friendly vehicles put on by the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association based out of New York. It’s been going on for 18 years and this year’s event, scheduled for May 10-14, will feature the most promising collection of eco-friendly autos ever assembled.

The Tour de Sol puts hybrids, CNG, biofuel, electric and fuel cell vehicles on display for both show and competition. A high-mileage challenge is an annual highlight, as is the Tour de Sol Championship in which private teams and automakers build one-off vehicles aimed at reducing gasoline use to naught. If you’re around the Saratoga area in mid-May, feel free to get your green on.
