Volkswagen announced plans to outfit its Pacheco, Argentina plant with $100 million in investments to prepare it to produce a new minivan targeted at the Latin American market. The Suaren will join two other VW models manufacturered in the plant, which is just outside of Buenos Aires. Investments like Volkswagen's have made Argentina into Latin America's third-largest car manufacturer and are partly responsible for spurring the country's economy after a crisis in 2001-2002.
