Proving that the Big Three aren't the only ones hurt by slumping demand for big cars and trucks, Nissan has had to cut back production of its Titan pickup and its Armada and Infiniti QX56 large SUVs.

Nissan cut production of the Titan by 29 percent, to 5,680 units a month, far short of its 8,000 truck target. Armada production has been cut 11 percent, and QX56 output by 10 percent.

Slumping demand in the large vehicle segment, coupled with strong competition from new models by GM and Toyota, should lead to intense competition in the coming months. Good news if you're in the market for a truck or large SUV.
