BMW a good thing for Britain

Jeremy Clarkson likes to poke fun at the infiltration of German auto manufacturers into Britain’s storied car culture, but a recent independent study by Oxford Economic Forecasting reveals that BMW for one has been nothing but a positive influence on Britain’s economy.
The Bavarian automaker has directly contributed £2.5 billion either directly or indirectly to Britain’s economy in 2004 alone; purchased another £1 billion worth of raw materials, components, equipment and services from UK companies; and supports the employment of over 55,000 Brits in its operations.

Clarkson and the boys may still be fuming over BMW’s quick turnover of MG Rover, but there’s no denying the company is a good thing for the Queen’s economy.
