That’s what Sue Cischke, vice president of environmental and safety engineering at Ford Motor Company, said at the recent Automotive News World Congress.

After praising the automaker’s efforts in gender equality in management, she continued, pointing out that the gasoline-powered engine will continue to be the main powertrain for at least half a century.

She then proceeded to discuss alternative technologies, such as hybrid engines, diesels, and fuel cells,  and how all automakers are at the least reviewing such powertrains for their vehicles.

"Everybody is playing in the game," she said. "Everybody's trying to figure it out. … It's going to be a series of different technologies."
