Silverdome says goodbye to Monster Trucks

The Silverdome in Pontiac, MI achieved a world record for indoor attendance at a single event in 1987 when it hosted Wrestlemania 3 and crammed in 93,173 spectators to watch Hulk Hogan body slam Andre the Giant. For comparison, the annual Silverdome Monster Jam monster truck show consistently draws over 80,000 spectators each year. Since 1982 over 1.5 million people have watched likes of Bigfoot and the Grave Digger duke it out by crushing cars and getting monster air in the Silverdome. This Saturday the show will be held for the last time in Pontiac.
You can check out a countdown to the last Monster Jam ever being held in the Silverdome over at the event’s website. A moment of silence, please…
