Green power. Literally.

MagCap Engineering, a magnetics manufacturer, and Gordon W. Wadle, an inventor, have patented a method to capture energy from plants and turn it into DC power.
Currently (so to speak), the system works using rods (one in a tree and one in the ground) and special circuitry developed by MagCap. There is enough electricity produced by the system (2.1 volts) to keep a battery fully charged. The company is looking to increase the output to 12 volts and one amp, enough to charge batteries for hybrid cars and EVs.

MagCap and Wadle have contacted investors to finance the technology.
