2006 Calendar 250If you’re looking for a bit of Christmas cheer, I’d advise you to steer clear of Jerry Flint - he’s not exactly full of good tidings. First, he believes that the new-car market in the US will shrink by nearly 10%, which isn’t going to help any manufacturers. After that, it’s pretty much time for beating up on the domestics, with four predictions:
  • The US OEMs will continue to lose market share
  • GM will replace Wagoner with “another green eyeshade who understands nothing but a balance sheet” (ouch!)
  • The recent promotion of European managers at Ford and GM should raise the question about the depth of talent in the US
  • GM will take one for the team and save Delphi

That sounds ‘bout right to me.
