BMW opens up in India

BMW has announced it will be building a manufacturing plant in India. The plant, which will be located in the state of Tamil Nadu near the state capital of Madras, is part of what India hopes to be the first wave of German auto manufactures to set up shop. BMWs are virtually non-existent in the country.

BMW states it hopes to start the plant in 2007.
