2007 Toyota Camry unofficial specs

Though TreeHugger.com was probably more interested in the specs on the hybrid version of Toyota's 2007 Camry, the site's post on unofficial specs for the car revealed a lot of information about the new version of this country's best selling car.

Here's a rundown:
Models include value CE, volume LE, sporty SE and luxury SLE
Same length as previous model
2.2-inch increase in wheelbase
Curb weight on base model up 175 lbs.
Standard curtain side airbags
158-hp 2.4L I4 with 5-speed auto or manual standard
268-hp 3.5L V6 with 6-speed auto optional (LE, SE, XLE)
192-hp hybrid drivetrain with 2.4L I4 and CVT transmission
16- and 17-inch wheel options
Keyless entry/starting system standard on hybrid, optional for V6 XLE

It's interesting to note that the hybrid model has not shunned performance for fuel economy as some previous speculated, but has been positioned smack in the model of its two gas-only-powered siblings.

A few more tidbits are available in the post over at TreeHugger.com, which does provide the disclaimer that this information is unofficial and could be totally wrong. We'll find out soon enough for ourselves at the Detroit Auto Show in early January.
