After its selection by Automobile Magazine as the 2005 Automobile of the Year in the magazine's annual All-Star awards, announced this week, sales figures released by BWM today show that the new 3-Series is a sales All-Star, too.

Since its launch in March, the new version of the 3-Series racked up sales of more than 200,000 units by the end of November, a stunning 38 percent increase over the previous year.

BMW credits the 3-Series as its engine for sales growth this year, as the automaker's sales grew by 9.5 percent in November (including its MINI and Rolls-Royce brands), and 10.8 percent for the year to date.
