GM told its Oklahoma City plant employees today that the facility will close in February, as the first casualty in GM's planned downsizing program.

The plant employs 2,000, building Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT, GMC Envoy XL and Isuzu Ascender EXT sport utility vehicles. All three "extended" SUVs (with third row seating) will be discontinued. Combined Trailblazer and Envoy sales were down over 16 percent in November.
