General Motors upgrades its Class-C Chassis

With all the attention focused on the General's upcoming full-sized SUVs and trucks (and the subsequent negative press) there has been little mention of GM's updates to its Class-C Chassis for recreational vehicles (RVs) through its Chevrolet brand.

A new 6.6-liter Duramax turbo-diesel engine will be offered for the 12,300-pound chassis. Two other, smaller, units will be co-branded with Workhorse Custom Chassis. Production is expected to begin in January 2006 with motor homes arriving late in the second quarter.
