Opel to expand lineup

General Motors plans to add the Opel OPC performance package to all Opel models except the Signum, attempting to help "people to take Opel seriously as a dynamic brand," according to Mark Adams, director of exterior design of GM Europe. The Astra, Vectra and Zafira are currently the Opel vehicles that offer that designation.

The move marks GM's attempt for the Opel brand to create halo vehicles for each model — the company expects that offering OPC variations will put more excitement into the brand as a whole.
