GM recalls 100,000 vehicles for rust

Drivers of 100,000 GM SUVs may be at risk due to corrosion on the latches on the two back seat doors, possibly resulting in the doors inadvertently opening while the vehicle is in motion. The recall affects 2002-2003 models of the Chevy TrailBlazer EXT, the GMC Envoy XL and the 2003 Isuzu Ascender.

In those unfortunate states where there is lots of snow and slush (and salt trying to get rid of both), moisture and salt get through the seal on the back seat doors and rust out the latch. Injuries have apparently been reported, although GM spokespeople aren't familiar with the claims. We'll see the recall go into affect in January.
