Sony announced last week that it is launching two new aftermarket in-dash stereo systems that allow for MP3 compatibility. The CDX-GT100 and the CDX-GT200 are both CD and MP3 compatible. MP3 players can be hooked into the system via traditional 1/8" mini-jack cords.
Dubbed Xplod receivers, Sony?s introduction follows moves by several OEMs, including Volkswagen and MINI, to make their cars compatible with newer technology. The models go for about $100 and are finished in black metallic with blue 13-segment LCD display. The models also have a built-in 208 watt amplifier and three-band equalizer.
