Yesterday Nissan announced that it would be recalling almost 110,000 Quest minivans from MY 2004-2006 because of a problem with a seat adjustment mechanism that could pinch one's finger. So far there have been ten reported pinches. The Detroit News points out that the Quest has actually made large strides in improving its quality ranking with J.D. Power and Associates, even snagging the title of Most Improved Vehicle Model in Quality. This seems more like a bad design than a faulty part, though.
We're wondering if this type of recall, the reason for which could be categorized as minor, affects your judgment of the Quest's quality. Would it factor into a purchase decision or does a recall have to be  prompted by something more serious to lower a vehicle's chances with you?
