DC fuel cell vehicles drive their millionth mile

DaimlerChrysler proud to announce that its fleet of over 100 fuel cell vehicles operating worldwide has hit the one million-mile mark, saving about 50,000 gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel in the process. The achievement has come at a price, as the company's investment in fuel cell technology has surpassed a billion dollars. The fuel cell fleet includes the company's F-Cell passenger cars (shown), Dodge Sprinter medium-duty fuel cell-powered vans and Citaro fuel cell-powered transit buses. DC and its energy partner BP have also already opened two hydrogen refueling stations in Michigan.
