From what we've seen crossovers and tall wagons are extremely popular in Europe. Everywhere you look, you see these efficient, comfortable people movers. VW responded to this demand with the Golf Plus, which should give birth to the 'Bedouin' compact SUV. It seems like a neat car, but it's not nearly as attractive as a regular Golf and the Touran pulls off being a tall wagon much better. The European market is more accepting of this type of model line granularity, but it seems excessive to us.
