Car Craft selects RSE contestants

The voting is in for Car Craft's Real Street Eliminator, and their readers have selected seven rather interesting contenders for this year's competition. My favorite of the vehicles selected has to be Bob Brownell's '66 Corvair, which packs a 500-horsepower small-block Chevy 383. Yikes - that has to raise the hair on the back of Ralph Nader's neck. Peter Mungo's '69 AMC AMX is sweet, too. I recall reading about his car in Hot Rod a few years ago, and being extremely impressed with the effort he went through to install ABS, traction control, and a host of other modern features on a 30-year-old car.
