Honda first to offer airbags for motorcycles

Arguably the biggest motorcycle safety development since the helmet, Honda Motor Company plans to make motorcycles safer by introducing an airbag. For now, Honda's still working on getting production costs down, but the company expects to be able to offer the technology on its bikes in three years. The airbag will fit under the handle bars and will protect everything from the head to the lower back in the event of an accident.

BMW was the last company to consider airbags for motorcycles, but couldn't get costs down enough to offer the technology.
