ALMS adds Utah race to 2006 schedule

It's not a rumor any longer. The Grand Prix of Utah is scheduled for July 13-15 at Miller Motorsports Park, and will be televised on CBS. The announcement was made in a joint presentation by ALMS President and CEO Scott Atherton, Audi R8 pilot Emmanuele Pirro and Petersen/White Lightning driver Patrick Long at the Miller Motorsports Park event held Wednesday at Salt Lake City's Delta Center.
The 4.5 mile track is the longest track in the ALMS schedule, with an ALMS-record 24 turns. The 3,500-foot main straight should see some impressive top speeds from the Le Mans Prototype classes.
