And you thought NASCAR TV coverage had given you every conceivable camera angle and video/audio gimmick! Well, those wizards at NBC have done it again, yessir!
In yesterday's "NASCAR on TNT" teleconference, the network proudly unveiled the "bubble cam" for the last race before The Chase this weekend at Richmond. Bubble cam (surely a patent is pending?) is an extra camera on the car roof that will be focused on whatever car is in 10th place (in year-to-date points) because that's the car other drivers have to place ahead of in order to gain points. Tenth place will not be a fun position to occupy, but it sure will be fun to watch drivers trying to attain it at all costs.
