For those of us who need to haul groceries through a rally course, Mitsubishi has created the Lancer Evolution Wagon. For slightly more than $31,000, Mitsubishi's Japanese customers can snap up one of the 2500 Evo Wagons to be sold between now and when supply runs out. Production is set to end at the end of this December. Mitsubishi took the time to add the Evolution treatment to all angles of the wagon, including rear fender flares and a special rear bumper. The Evo Wagon uses much of the Evolution's lower body, with the Lancer Wagon donating the side panels and roof. The whole package is reinforced through additional strengthening and spot welding. An automatic version, the Evo Wagon GT-A is also available with a 5-speed unit and slightly less power. Overall, 32k is not a bad price for a 276-hp all-wheel drive wagon. Perhaps the next Evolution will be offered as a wagon on these shores.
